Editorial policy

The rules the desk holds itself to, stated publicly so readers can hold it to them too.

Sources

Primary sources only for regime claims: Regulation (EU) 2022/2554 as published in the Official Journal, its regulatory and implementing technical standards, the European Supervisory Authorities, and the FCA and PRA policy statements. Trade press may point us to a question; it is never the authority for an answer. Every guide lists its primary sources.

Regimes kept apart

A DORA claim is labelled DORA. A UK claim is labelled UK. Draft or consultation material is never presented as final law, and every standards item carries its date. Where a regime is silent, the guide says it is silent rather than filling the gap.

Dates

Published dates are real. A guide's checking date moves only when the guide is genuinely re-read against the source. Volatile figures (standards timetables, reporting arrangements) are written as dated snapshots.

Voice

The desk writes as a knowledgeable explainer, not as a practising adviser. Obligations are attributed to the regimes that create them. The site never claims a compliance position for any individual firm, never invents thresholds, deadlines, or eligibility rules, and never presents an interpretation as the text when the text says something narrower.

Corrections

Errors are corrected in the guide and recorded on the corrections page with the date and the reason. Silent edits to regime claims do not happen here.
